Please Vote for Facial Recognition Vending at the Vendies 2015!



FaceWe’re delighted to be shortlisted for the Vendies 2015 in the category for ‘Best Machine Innovation’ with our pioneering Luce X2 Touch TV machine – the world’s first full production facial recognition enabled vending machine on the UK market.

The Vendies are the UK vending industry’s annual awards ceremony, and are set to be held in Manchester on July 1. We’ve made it this far, but now we need your votes before Friday, 5th June’s deadline!

Unveiled to the UK market late last year, the revolutionary free standing Luce X2 Touch TV machine is capable of identifying, personally greeting and servicing users through facial recognition.

With the awards now open to a public vote, Smart Vend Solutions MD Malcolm Standage, commented:

By using the state-of-the art software developed over the last two years by Rheavendors, The Luce X2 Touch TV machine can identify and serve the user with tailor-made options based upon historical purchases, preferences and favourite recipes.

When linked with an existing database of self-registered subscribers (in accordance with the Data Protection Act), the advanced facial mapping system even enables the equipment to allow or disallow products based upon users’ age, gender or dietary requirements. This represents a ground-breaking tool that could have huge implications for catering, particularly in hospitals and schools.

If, for example, the machine is programmed to identify that a recognised individual has lactose intolerance or diabetes, it can refuse to serve the user, a potentially life-saving advancement.

Facial recognition vending launch goes down a storm on both sides of the Atlantic

Complementing October’s fantastic UK launch at the historic Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, we’re delighted to say that Smart Vend Solutions has been making news headlines around the world.

The UK arrival of the world’s first vending machines enabled for facial recognition and the unveiling of the revolutionary free standing Luce X2 Touch TV machine, has certainly struck a chord with the UK and American media, and put the Smart Vend Solutions name in front of millions.

Off the back of our ‘Vending Machine of the Future’ feature on The Telegraph newspaper’s website, sales director David Wilson has taken part in live interviews with Simon Mayo on BBC Radio 2, BBC 5Live at Drive Time and even a late night/early morning debate with CBS NewsRadio Los Angeles.
